ENDESA and COREN sign an electricity supply contract at stable prices for 5 years and will collaborate to promote sustainable development projects

Endesa and Coren have signed a five-year electricity supply contract that gives the Galician company stability in meeting its long-term energy needs and establishes a path to jointly explore the development of projects in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy in their farms and industries. The agreement, signed at Coren’s headquarters in Ourense by the president of the Galician cooperative, Manuel Gómez-Franqueira, and Endesa’s director of B2B Clients, Juan José Muñoz, reaches 90 GWh and will allow Coren to have a horizon of price stability for the development of its activity.

The president of Coren, Manuel Gómez-Franqueira, highlighted the relevance of this agreement for the cooperative in the current context of prices and with the aim of consolidating, together with Endesa’s experience, the improvement of efficiency processes in its agri-food plants . “For Coren it is very important to have an energy partner that gives us security and peace of mind to develop our strategy based on sustainable development, given the great volatility of the markets expected at least in the medium term. Likewise, it helps us to face the context in which we find ourselves of rising costs suffered by our sector, since the rise in energy is joined by that of raw materials for animal feed”, he indicated.

For his part, Juan José Muñoz, director of Endesa’s B2B Clients, pointed out that “the agreement allows Coren to overcome the current complex scenario of the energy markets and have stable and competitive costs that make it possible to consolidate the company’s business plans for the future. Endesa, with strong roots in Galicia, thus undertakes to support the Galician primary sector, within the common framework of the commitment of both companies to sustainability”.
