Coren and ABANCA renew their collaboration commitment to work for the development of the Galician agri-food sector

The CEO of ABANCA, Francisco Botas, today visited the Coren Group facilities in Santa Cruz de Arrabaldo, where the headquarters of the cooperative’s headquarters and its Poultry Processing Center are located. There he was received by the president of Coren, Manuel Gómez-Franqueira Álvarez; accompanied by the vice president of the cooperative, María Gómez-Franqueira Otero, and the general manager, Emilio Rial.

The visit took place within the framework of institutional collaboration between both entities, which thus renewed their common commitment to continue working for the development of the Galician agri-food sector.

At the meeting, the CEO of ABANCA was able to learn first-hand about the activity carried out by Coren, the main meat agri-food cooperative in Spain, made up of more than 7,000 families between members and workers. In addition, the managers of both entities analyzed the situation of the Galician agri-food sector and the challenges in the current socioeconomic context. In this sense, the president of Coren, Manuel Gómez-Franqueira, thanked ABANCA for its permanent collaboration with the cooperative, which he considers a “strategic partner” for the continuous support it provides to the projects undertaken by the Group.

For his part, the CEO of ABANCA showed “the bank’s commitment to the Galician economy and especially to the primary sector as a motor for the development of rural areas”. In this regard, he highlighted “Coren’s leadership position as one of the benchmarks in the community’s economic fabric” and reiterated “his support for the group’s growth projects.”
